Soloway Wright has always believed in giving back to the community, including helping its members reach their full potential. For over 70 years, Soloway Wright has successfully advised, negotiated and advocated on behalf of corporate employers, individual employees, and professional associations. We know how important professional skills and professional attire can be to a person’s employability.
The importance of empowerment in the workplace is why we decided to support the good work of Dress for Success Ottawa, a local branch of an international charity that helps working women feel prepared and confident in the workplace. Since 2011, Dress for Success Ottawa has offered job referrals, development programs, and workshops to thousands of women in the National Capital Region to help them succeed in life and at work. It’s just one of the 174 affiliates of Dress for Success around the world, all of which support and empower women as they begin new careers. Last year, the charity offered over 1,100 professional outfits to Ottawa women and organized dozens of interview dress rehearsals to help these women succeed during job applications.
Since Dress for Success is always looking for women’s clothing, we asked our Ottawa colleagues to donate anything they could to this worthy cause. Throughout the Winter, we collected a dozen large bags for Dress for Success Ottawa and on January 27th, we donated clothing, shoes, purses, and jewellery to the organization. Dress for Success gives so much to women as they begin a new chapter in their professional lives and we are proud to be a part of this community-building enterprise.
