About Cheyanna
Cheyanna Sammy joined Soloway Wright as an associate in the litigation group in 2026 after completing her summer term and articles with the firm. (NOTE: I was hired in general litigation, and I was told I would be dabbling in everything, but my focus is on construction law. Once I have a chance to chat with Todd about my exact areas of practice we can update this, but that is why I’m keeping it as general litigation for now).
Cheyanna received her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law with a specialization in public law where she graduated Cum Laude. Prior to law school, Cheyanna completed her undergraduate degree in History, Political Science, and Public Law at the University of Toronto where she graduated with High Distinction. She also completed a Master of Arts in History at the University of Toronto.
During law school, Cheyanna served as an Assistant and Associate Editor of the Ottawa Law Review, participated in internship opportunities, and competed in moot competitions. She also worked as a research assistant on a project that examined workplace accessibility, accommodation, and human rights law.
Before pursuing a career in law, Cheyanna was a competitive dancer in numerous styles including Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. Outside of the office, you can find Cheyanna cycling, hiking, or at the movies.
