About Vanessa

Vanessa joined Soloway Wright’s Ottawa office in 2020 as a member of our Real Estate and DevelopmentCommercial Leasing, and Condominium Law groups after summering and articling with the firm.

Vanessa’s real estate practice consists of all aspects of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and financings. She frequently drafts residential agreements of purchase and sale and reviews Status Certificates for prospective condominium unit purchasers. In her condominium practice, Vanessa regularly advises condominium corporation boards on a wide range of condominium matters. She also drafts by-laws, agreements, status certificates, and other core condominium documents for the boards that she represents.

Vanessa is also regularly involved in commercial leasing work for both landlords and tenants, including drafting, reviewing, and interpreting lease provisions. She has co-chaired commercial leasing continuing professional development programming with the Ontario Bar Association and recently co-authored an article on the impact of COVID-19 on commercial leasing for the County of Carleton Law Association.

Outside of the office, Vanessa is an Executive with the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division – East, acts as Writing Leader for the University of Ottawa’s Legal Writing Academy, and enjoys exploring restaurants across Canada and around the world.
