About Mark
Mark is a partner in the Construction Group at Soloway Wright. Although seated in Ottawa, he practices and accepts mandates widely throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario generally, as well as from other Canadian provinces. His practice focuses on construction and commercial litigation.
Mark regularly assists clients with negotiating, mediating, arbitrating and litigating construction disputes, including construction liens, trust claims, delay and impact claims, labour and material payment bond claims, negligence claims and other contract disputes. He also has experience preparing and negotiating various forms of construction contracts, and is intimately familiar with the adjudication process in Ontario and at the federal level. He regularly appears before courts at all levels as well as in private arbitration proceedings throughout Ontario.
Mark is a strident advocate of his clients’ interests who enjoys a strong reputation among construction and commercial counsel throughout Ontario. Clients who work with Mark quickly learn he delivers top flight advocacy while maintaining a laser focus on his clients’ business interest beyond discrete legal issues. It is not unusual for Mark to act almost in the capacity as general counsel for his clients, who trust him implicitly to ensure their interests are addressed across the legal spectrum.
Mark is married to a genetic counsellor at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and is the father of two young boys. He is heavily involved as a hockey and baseball Dad, and some-time coach, for the Ottawa Sting and Glebe Little League organizations.
