About Lawrence

Lawrence Soloway has retired from practicing law and is now a Strategic Advisor for the firm. Lawrence practiced in the fields of Business & Corporate law, Real Estate & Development, and insolvency since 1974.  He has taught continuing legal education programs in these areas and has served as a bar admission course instructor.

Lawrence has been involved in a number of community activities.  He has served as the chair of the United Jewish Appeal Campaign of Ottawa and as an officer of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa.  He was the chair of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation and subsequently chair of the Board of Directors of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute from 2011 to 2017. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Ottawa and the chair of the Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation.

He was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal for voluntary activities in 2002 and received the Ottawa Philanthropist of the year award in 2013.

Lawrence has also had extensive direct business investment and management experience over the past 30 years and has served on the board of directors of a number of private companies and real estate investment ventures.
