Soloway Wright always strives to find new ways to give back to the families of Eastern Ontario, especially to those in need. That’s why members of our staff ran in the Sporting Life 10k Ottawa on May 12th to support local children affected by childhood cancer.
A diagnosis of childhood cancer is a big, sudden swerve in the road. It changes life in an instant. For affected families, it can feel overwhelming — as if everything is now about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams are left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
For over 35 years, Camp Ooch has offered a different path — the healing power of fun, friendship and self-confidence, and the joy of kids getting to just be kids!
Often referred to as the social cure for cancer, Camp Ooch provides programming in the Ottawa area, at an overnight camp in Muskoka Lakes, and in specialized paediatric centres. Camp Ooch is a privately-funded, volunteer-based organization that relies exclusively on generous groups and individuals. It’s a perfect fit for Soloway Wright and we are proud to have helped out such a worthy cause.
