An Evening for Mental Health Patient Care and Research

Soloway Wright was pleased to join its clients in a night honouring mental health advocate Liz Manley.

As Ottawa lawyers, we strive to give back to our community, whether it be volunteering with the Ottawa Food Bank or offering our time to serve on boards and as committee members at organizations throughout the City. Then there are nights, such as the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health Inspiration Awards Gala, where supporting the community means dressing up and fundraising for a deserving cause – in this case the exceptional patient care and mental health research carried out at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

At this year’s sold-out gala, Soloway Wright was pleased to be joined by a number of clients and their guests, including Gennaro Di Santo, the CEO of the CaraCo Group and his wife Maria Di Santo; Jo-Ann Taylor, the Vice President of Human Resources for the Minto Group and John Perez; Joanne Tubman of AE Tubman Ltd/Tubman Funeral Homes; and Dr. Thomas Noel, Director of Verdun Windows.

Our table was particularly inspired by the moving words of keynote speaker and honoree Elizabeth Manley, who spoke about overcoming her own mental health challenges and the importance of mental health advocacy and research. Congratulations to Ms. Manley on her receipt of the Transformational Leader for Mental Health Award and to all of the night’s award recipients, including Ben Leikin, Dr. Robyn McQuaid, Chelsea Rose Meldrum and Glenda O’Hara. Thank you to The Royal Ottawa Foundation, presenting sponsor TD Bank and all of the other community builders involved in this special evening. It was a pleasure to attend and support mental health initiatives in Ottawa.
